The ‘X Factor’ judge has the funniest reason ever about why he thinks he’s fully prepared to be a dad.
Simon Cowell is gearing up to welcome his first child, a son, with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman – and he’s surprisingly calm and prepared. He told HollywoodLife.com that 54 is the best age for him to become a dad — much better than if he was a father in his 20s.
Simon Cowell: I’ll Be A Good Dad Because Raising Dogs Prepared Me For Baby
Simon is sure that he’s more prepared to be a dad now than when he was younger — and he has the funniest reason why.
“Oh god where do I begin? I don’t think I would have been a great dad at the age of twenty. But now, I have [my dogs] Squiddly and Diddly and I’ve trained them,” Simon joked.
Before we point out the obvious differences between raising kids and training pups, Simon even laughed that he hasn’t been so great about the dog-training after all! “Actually … They’re not trained at all, actually now that I think about it, they’re the worst behaved dogs in Beverly Hills!” he laughed.
All joking aside, Simon asserted, “I’ll be a good dad and Lauren will be a great mom.” How sweet!
